TESTIMONIALS

Along with two other friends, I hired Reda for a half day street food tour of Marrakech. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable of the streets and culture. Looking back I was very appreciative of his deep respect for Moroccan culture as well as his humble interest in learning our own.
He is well educated, multilingual, and well respected by the locals. This was hands down one of my favorite activities in Morocco (also having travelled to Casablanca, Tangier, and Fés)
Get ready for a local experience, the food is authentic and you'll get an opportunity to get a true behind the scenes look at how Moroccan street food has bene prepared for hundreds of years. No one from our group got sick and everyone had a fantastic time. The variety of street food ranged from conservative to daring. All extra food was donated to a local family!
Get ready for dad jokes because Reda is a connoisseur!More

5 Star Half-Day Street Food Tour – jtburkholder

I really don't know where to start because everything was AMAZING! First, we met at Cafe de France where we met our tour guide, Reda. He asked if we had eaten anything and we had not, so he took us to eat Mashoue (roasted lamb). The lamb was very good, and it was only 110 mad.
He told us that he would take us deep into the market where there are not many tourist where you can buy things from the actual suppliers at wholesale prices. We went to a Beber rug supplier where I was able to help Nadera make a rug by hand. This was awesome! My husband and I purchased a rug, and we were told that whatever else that we wanted to buy that we can pay later at hotel. So, you can have items now and make arrangements for someone to come to your hotel later where you can pay if you don't want to bring a lot of money with you to the Medina.
We also went to a Berber apothecary pharmacy where you can purchase therapeutic spices, creams, and herbs. Furthermore, we visited a kaftan embroidery shop and finally leather shoe shop. Lastly, we went to a cafe where we took a break to enjoy refreshing drinks. If you want to experience an authentic Moroccan market tour, this is the one to choose! The experience that we got was worth more than the money we paid for the tour. I gurantee that you will not be disappointed!

Authentic Moroccan Medina Tour – A. Lewis

Reda will talk to you about the tour and what you will be able to see and ask you what you are most interested in discovering. The duration of your trour may even be up to you! He will guide you through mazes of artisan shops where each craft is an art and food that'll make your mouth water.
You will will never be disappointed. Anything you need you can discuss with Reda and he will surely try to help. He will take you shopping for ghings that will marvel your senses and the artisans will fascinate you with their work. Each place will seem like a world pulled from a storybook.
Ask Reda all your questions about Marrakesh and keep yourself informed in how to appropriately barter a little the prices as well and enjoy fantastic tea surrounded by colourful carpets, spices and lights!

Tailored to your needs – Patricia A.

The tour was very personalised and detailed. The guide was easy to find and knew a lot about the local area, as he was able to explain everything I asked about. He is able to take you to any kind of store that you would like, i.e. Blacksmiths, shoe shops, etc... The length of the tour is also flexible, which I appreciated as it meant there wasn’t really any time pressure. At the end he helped me back to my riad, which was really appreciated. Overall it was a much less stressful way to experience the market.

Good tour – Conor M.

This tour was well organised, we received an email from Reda our guide the day before about our meeting point. We met Reda and another couple so there were only 4 of us which was great. The walk took us to places we would not have found ourselves and gave us the opportunity to visit stalls selling spices, shoes, carpets, clothes and lamps without being hastled and without pressure to buy.
Reda was friendly and knowledgeable, very relaxed and happy and brought a good atmosphere to the walk, he was also very happy to take photos. We would definitely recommend this trip

Really enjoyed this tour – Susan S.

I booked this tour to help get oriented with the Medina. But it turned out to be so much more than just shopping! Reda was a fantastic host, he is very knowledgeable about history and the crafts of what he is showing you and takes you to vendors with a lovely atmosphere and no pressure - very different from some parts of the Medina. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted to see and he tailored the tour to my needs. He also showed me some great, off the beaten path gems in the Medina for food! Places that were full of locals - no other tourists in sight! This tour is amazing value for 4 hours of discovery - I honestly can not recommend it enough. I would happily book this again because I am sure we would be able to see a completely different range of sights. Thank you Reda!

More than just a shopping tour! – Fleur K.

My girlfriend and I booked the Souks shopping tour on our last day in Marrakech after reading the strong reviews, and it totally exceeded our expectations! We had already explored the souks on our own for a couple of days and thought we’d seen it all. Our guide Benabab was knowledgeable and flexible, guiding us to multiple hidden shops based on our interests - especially in hangy lamps and spices! Make sure to speak up and let him know if you want a picture or something small, he was very responsive.
We had a blast haggling and joking with merchants without unwelcome pressure to buy anything - every place we went to was professional, classy, and full of a zillion cool things we didn’t know we needed to buy!
Recommend checking out the wood carver with magic boxes, the spice shop (try the crystallized eucalyptus oil!), and the antique shop.
Lastly, our guide took us to a great and inexpensive lunch spot and stayed to help sort out some food allergy issues which would have been impossible as English only speakers. Benabab really went the extra mile to make sure we were happy.
Probably the single best value tour you can find, highly recommend!
Tips for haggling:
Always smile and laugh with the shop keepers. Everyone involved just wants to have a fun experience. And if they have fun, they will give you extra gifts and blessings before you leave.
Be sure to ask if the shop keepers can “make a special discount” for you. But keep in mind that that price is just the beginning of the haggling game. You’ll probably end up about halfway between the first price you offer and the first discount they offer. So, don’t be afraid to smile and go extra low to start. It’s all part of the fun!

Fantastic Shopping Tour! – Bigglebuns

We had a most wonderful shopping experience with our tour guide Reda. As this was our first time on Marrakesh, he had guided us well with good information and experiences at the suok. We will definitely be lost without him with us. The shops he brought us to was excellent with good quality and friendly owners. We had a joyous shopping day and will definitely recommend him to our friends. Thank you again Reda for the great experience

A wonderful shopping experience with Reda – M3541RPjessical

Reda's souks shopping tour was a FANTASTIC experience. Coming to Marrakech, we were warned by nearly every tourist and host we met that their worst experiences getting lost, scammed, harassed, and haggled for money happened in the souks. Walking with Reda, we were never bothered by anyone and the shop owners he took us to were very considerate. On the rare occasion that someone would try to approach, Reda wouldn't even let them come near us. He took us to all the best shops and hidden gems in the souks. We were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted and never pressured to buy anything (although we did buy a few things because there was so much great stuff to choose from!). Reda was so kind, considerate, and informative the whole time. He showed us nearly every aspect of shopping, artisan production, and culture in the medina. I say 'nearly' because the only things we didn't see were the tanneries & meat markets. However, this was intentional and very considerate on his behalf because I am vegan so he spared me the experience. Reda gave us a perspective of Marrakech that we hadn't seen before and left us feeling confident in our ability to explore the souks on our own. I couldn't recommend him more!
